In 187 full-color photographs Victorian Houses of Mississippi showcases a selection of 143 houses that exemplify Victorian tastes in residential design. Close-ups of some of the homes reveal the high level of craftsmanship that went into their design and construction along with such specific details as beautiful spindlework, elaborate gable ornamentation, and striking dormers. Equally impressive are the gorgeous pastel colors that many of the homes still feature.

This photographic survey of Mississippi is a tour of the state that will be of interest to anyone who cares about its history and architectural legacy.

Sherry Pace of Madison County, Mississippi, is a freelance outdoor photographer. Her work has appeared in the Best of Photography Annual 2001.

Louie the Buoy
by Allain C. Andry III
Illustrations by Tazewell S. Morton III

Both Allain Andry and Tazewell Morton are residents of Pass Christian and will be at the signing. Louie the Buoy is based on a family story involving a buoy, visible from the family home in Pass Christian, that disappeared during Hurricane Camille. Tazewell Morton is a renowned artist and is the only artist to have his artwork displayed on the moon -fellow Auburn alumnus and astronaut Ken Mattingly planted a school flag on the moon that Tazwell Morton designed.

A Dixie Christmas
Holiday Stories from the South's Best Writers

Edited by Charlene R. McCord

After two sellout years, we return with an all-new third volume that includes stories of families, couples, children, and those on their own in moments of great transformation and small joys, seeing all the ways that Christmas can manifest itself: from the teacher who shows one boy how to manage the world so that it’s Christmas every day to the girl who, in an attempt to best her father, buys what she thinks is the most magnificent necklace ever for her mother. With stories and essays by Bailey White, Rick Bass, Ellen Gilchrist, Marianne Gingher, George Singleton, Michael Parker, Steve Yarbrough, Lynne Barrett, Bret Anthony Johnston, Stephen Marion, and Aaron Gwyn, A Dixie Christmas celebrates a season filled with large expectations and graced with small surprises.
